As
a duo the soprano saxophonist Manuel Miethe and contrabassist Horst
Nonnenmacher have chosen to concentrate exclusively on improvised
music. With chimeric flashes of contemporary jazz, atonal forms, and
emergent rhythms, the sensibility and curiosity of this duo leads them
to migrate through a variety of stylistic boundaries.
Often employing prepared instruments, Miethe and Nonnenmacher engage an unusually broad range of musical possibilities as an accomplished team.
